Ride-sharing firm Dott recorded its busiest ever weekend in London, after the rail and tube strikes steered more people towards the firm’s electric mobility solutions.
The busiest day for Dott was last Friday (19 August), when the rail and tube strikes took place across the capital.
Total rides were 107% higher than the previous week, with rides on the Saturday (20 August) also up week-on-week by 34%.
On Friday, Dott reported the average journey time on the firm’s shared vehicles was nearly 20 minutes for a distance of 3.24km. Dott said this was an increase of 25% and 21% respectively by comparison to the previous week.
Dott recently launched its rental e-bike service in Hammersmith and Fulham, which complements the e-scooter rental fleet it runs in London.
“Our service is here to keep people moving across the city in the most efficient way, without damaging the environment,” said Dott UK general manager, Duncan Robertson.
“We hope that all the new users that tried out Dott for the first time will realise that our vehicles provide an effortless and enjoyable way to get around at any time.”
Dott users can unlock an e-scooter or e-bike through the Dott app for £1, and then £0.17 per minute.
