Stunt hero Ken Block shreds Las Vegas in wild Electrikhana video

25 Oct 2022

Rally star and YouTube sensation Ken Block has launched his latest sideways sliding, drift-filled stunt video – and this time he’s gone electric.

Now, we wouldn’t necessarily highlight what is essentially a big promotional video, but given Block’s long-running Gymkhana series has had a huge impact this is really significant in showcasing the potential of EVs. Plus, as Block might say, it’s totally rad so we’re stoked about it. We'll stop that now.

The new Electrikhana video features Block performing a series of lurid stunts in Las Vegas, USA in the bonkers Audi S1 Hoonitron, a one-off reworking of the Audi RS e-tron GT that has been developed by the German firm’s performance division.

The all-wheel-drive machine has been extensively reworked with a lightweight carbon fibre chassis to make it more responsive and styling inspired by the Audi S1 Quattro that conquered the Pikes Peak International Hill Climb in 1987.

Given that it’s in the middle of the Nevada desert, Las Vegas is short of a great big mountain for Block to race up – so instead he’s settled for drifting past a replica Eiffel Tower, jumping off the car park of a hotel and performing donuts on the strip.

We doubt Block set any efficiency records for his efforts, and probably also got through quite a few sets of tyres while filming it. But we're very glad that he did.

The video also features guest appearances from other classic Audi models, including that Pikes Peak-winning Quattro and several Le Mans 24 Hours-winning prototypes.
