Charging app Bonnet expands network access in Europe

16 Jan 2023

Bonnet has partnered with one of Italy’s biggest charging networks, Enel X Way, adding more than 16,000 chargers to its EV charging app.

Enel X Way currently manages more than 7000 locations in Italy, with chargers ranging from slower devices to ultra-rapid speeds.

Bonnet, which launched in 2021, serves as an aggregator service for EV owners, giving its subscribers access to more than 20 charging networks - including Ionity, Osprey, Shell Recharge and Source London - which total more than 80,000 chargers across Europe.

With the addition of Enel X Way, Bonnet users now have access to 24 networks and more than 90,000 connections across the continent.

Bonnet says the new partnership will mean both Italian and European drivers will be able to “seamlessly start charging across Italy”, benefiting commercial fleets, regular users and tourists.

The charging app recently simplified its subscription tiers - which ranged from £9 to £80 per month - by adding pay-as-you-go offering alongside two monthly subscription options.

Enel X Way is also the latest charging network to be added to Bonnet, following MFG Power in the UK and fellow Italian network FTX.

“Enel X Way is leading the way in Italy to reduce carbon emissions and providing a huge number of reliable charging options for drivers,” said Bonnet CEO and co-founder, Patrick Reich.

“We are incredibly excited to add Enel X Way to our app and work with them to further electrify Europe. This announcement also marks an exciting moment for Bonnet as we further accelerate our offer of being the easiest and most affordable way to recharge a car or van in Europe.”
