London to host inaugural Eskootr Championship race

London will host the the first round of the new Eskootr Championship.

As well as announcing the first race in London, eSC also revealed the five other countries that will host a race this year, with the cities due to be announced in the coming months. 

The Eskootr Championship is an all-new racing series that will see riders compete against each other on e-scooters capable of reaching 60mph. 

Electric Skootr Championship: MotoGP meets e-scooters?

Riders will race at events at specially designed inner-city circuits in the UK, Switzerland, France, Italy, Spain and the USA, with further locations set to be added in future seasons.

The new e-scooter racing series hopes to ‘inspire a new movement for safer, greener and more liveable cities’. 

Eskootr competitors are professional athletes from other sports such as skiing, surfing and other two-wheeled motorsports. 

Eskootr Championship co-founder and CEO, Hrag Sarkissian said, “This is a huge moment for eSC, and for sport, motorsport and the future growth of micro mobility.

“London, and the other cities we will announce shortly, are all incredibly progressive, with an appreciation for the real world relevance eSC brings as they seek to address the implications of a rapidly changing mobility landscape."

UK: 13/14 May

Switzerland: 27/28 May

France: 17/18 June

Italy: 15/16 July

Spain: 16/17 Sept

USA: October
