New Jaguar EV to arrive as £100,000 four-door GT

19 Apr 2023

Jaguar will launch a new four-door electric GT car in the next two years, as the brand transforms into a luxury performance car manufacturer.

The first of three new EVs and the first to launch since the I-Pace, the new GT will be built on its own bespoke electric platform called Jaguar Electrified Architecture (JEA) and is set to go on sale in 2025.

Jaguar confirmed its plans in an update to its Reimagine strategy, adding that the new model would be priced at £100,000 and offer a range of up to 430 miles.

Technical details are thin on the ground, but the new EV will likely feature a dual-motor set-up with four-wheel-drive.

Over the next five years, Jaguar Land Rover plans to invest £15 billion into its electric future, with the firm’s Halewood plant in Merseyside, UK set to become an all-electric manufacturing facility.

JLR’s Engine Manufacturing Centre in Wolverhampton will also be adjusted to cater for EV development and production, and will be renamed Electric Propulsion Manufacturing Centre.

“Today I am proud to announce we are accelerating our electrification path, making one of our UK plants and our next-generation medium-size luxury SUV architecture fully electric,” said JLR CEO, Adrian Mardell.

“This investment enables us to deliver our modern luxury electric future, developing new skills, and reaffirming our commitment to be net zero carbon by 2039.”

Jaguar's inbound four-door GT will be followed by two electric crossovers which are set to follow in 2026 and 2027.
