Cake launches three new bikes for children

21 Apr 2022

Swedish electric motorbike firm Cake has launched three new children’s bikes called Ready, Steady and Go as part of the Cake Kids Evolution Program.

Cake says the aim of the new initiative for young riders is to “stimulate excitement for two-wheeled fun” while also building confidence.

The program serves riders from two to eight years old, with each bike becoming more complex as the young rider grows their skill set.

Cake says the program is all about “progressively setting the pace and building confidence, in a manner that is both safe and inspiring”.

The Cake Ready is aimed at the lower end of the range, where children  ride the 12 inch kick bike using their feet, which starts from £172 ($225). Then comes the Cake Steady, a slightly larger 16 inch mountain bike which is aimed at kids aged four and above. It cost just over £300 ($400).

At the very top of the Kids Evolution Program is the Cake Go, a fully electric off-ride motorbike for kids aged six and above. The Go is very similar in looks to the brand’s Kalk electric off-road bike, which is used in the firm’s Cake Worlds race series. As a fully electric model, the Cake Go is priced at £2680 ($3500).

“Learning to ride a bicycle is a must before even thinking of anything with a motor,” said Cake founder and CEO Stefan Ytterborn.

“The joy and excitement, developing skills, balance and control is the common platform, no matter where the path for kids on two wheels will take them. It’s also about responsibility and anxiety, where step by step confidence and safety thinking, for kids and parents is key."
