Lime and Fuller's team up to ease late-night commutes

14 Nov 2022

Hospitality staff can work all sorts of unsociable hours, which means they often face heading home late at night when it’s cold and dark. So Lime has teamed up with Fuller’s to give London-based employees of the pub chain discounts on using its e-bike and e-scooters to get home more easily.

Under the initiative, all of Fuller’s hospitality staff in the capital – around 2000 people, including managers, bartenders and waiters – will be given access to 50 per cent off all their Lime e-scooter and e-bike rides. The aim is to make it more affordable to use e-mobility to speed up trips home in the small hours of the morning, when public transport can be limited.

The link-up between the rental e-scooter and e-bike firm and Fuller’s came after representatives from the two companies were introduced by the Women’s Night Safety Charter, a charity that is working to make London a city where women can feel safe and welcome at night. According to research cites by Lime, 49 per cent of all women felt unsafe walking alone after dark in both busy public places and quiet streets.

Georgia Corr, Lime UK’s public policy manager, said: “We know how important is it for those working late shifts to have multiple options to travel home after work, particularly as it begins to get darker earlier at this time of year, and we believe it is important to help where we can.”

Lime added that it is committed to helping improve women’s safety through encouraging more women in London to cycle.

Dawn Browne, Fuller’s head of people and talent, said that the deal was “a great fit for us - it helps our teams financially too and we know that a number of our team members are already using bikes for hire as a method of commuting.”
